Amira, Anahat win bronze at Scottish Junior Open


New Delhi, Dec 30 (IANS): Siblings Amira and Anahat Singh won bronze in their respective age groups at the Scottish Junior Open on Monday. Eleven-year-old Anahat beat Malaysia's Keertty Haridharan 11-1 ,11-1, 11-1 in the U-13 bronze medal match while 17-year-old Amira beat Japan's Ayumi Watanabe 11-5, 11-2, 13-11 in the U-19 category.

Constantly rated among the brightest young talents in the country, Anahat won the British, Dutch and European Open titles this year.

Amira has won bronze in the Dutch Junior Championships and represented India at the World Championships this year. The pair will now turn their eye to the British Open which will be played from January 2 to 6.
