Mumbai, Sep 19: "It is nice to see Konkani music getting so popular in our home town. Konkani needs to be nurtured further, by bringing out such good quality music albums," opined Veera Gonsalves, CMD of a franchise of EDO JAPAN, Edminton, Canada. She was speaking after releasing a new Konkani CD album, 'Golden Konkani Masala,' by JEDI Music at a get-together programme held at Le Royal Meridien hotel here on the evening of Friday September 18.
After the thumping success of ‘Forever Konkani Songs,’ JEDI Music has put together this new Konknai Music album that contains 58 old, popular Konkani songs that have been newly recorded by using latest technologies. "In olden days, no such technology was available. So, our people could not bring out their albums that were on par with the albums in other languages, as far as quality is concerned. Hence, we took this step to popularize our Konkani songs among our younger generation," said Julius Braganza, who is the producer of the album. "I loved working on this project. I have tried my best to incorporate unique Mangalorean and Goan numbers, in order to bind all Konkani-speaking people with a single rope," explained talented Goan music director, Tony Dias.
Nephi Pradhan, Ivan Sequeira, Antony Tauro, Milagreen, Charles D'Cunha, Victor Concesso and Veronica have contributed their meodious voices for this album.
As there was a public demand for the live performances, Tony Dias, Nephi Pradhan and Ivan Sequeira enthralled the crowd with some selected Konkani numbers. The audience added colour to the programme through their spontaneous dances.
Vidya Braganza, Gonsalves and the artistes of the album were also present at the dais.
