Mangalore: RACHANA Inks MOU With KE Global

Mangalore, Sep 19: RACHANA – Catholic Chamber of Commerce and Industry, a registered body of industrialists, businessmen and professionals in Mangalore Diocese, which was established in the year 1998, heralded a new, glorious chapter in its history on Friday September 18. It joined hands with Kanara Entrepreneurs – Global (KE Global), an entrepreneurship organization set up in 2004, for bringing all the entrepreneurs from the Kanara region under a single umbrella, to promote entrepreneurial skills among the individuals from this region, facilitate sharing of knowledge between them and for fostering new, budding entrepreneurs to excel in their respective endeavours and achieve their goals. RACHANA entered into a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with KE Global on this historical occasion.
The function was held at Mangalore Club in the city at 7.30 pm on Friday, September 18. In his opening remarks, president of RACHANA, Ronald Gomes, said that RACHANA wants progress. “Today, RACHANA and KE Global are taking a small step on a long journey ahead, which will result in mutual co-operation that will give a big boost to RACHANA and its members,” he noted. He welcomed the entire team of 19 members of KE Global, Dubai, led by it’s chairman, Ivan Fernandes, to witness the signing of the memorandum of understanding between RACHANA and KE Global.
In his address, Ivan Fernandes expressed the view that Mangaloreans should be more enterprising than confining themselves to just hunting for jobs. He extended his full support and cooperation through KE Global network of entrepreneurs on a global level, for mentoring business from startup to expansion into other territories, sharing of common platforms and leveraging of the expertise available between the two for the benefit of it’s members.
The MOU signed between the two entities will provide for RACHANA to leverage the benefits for a global network of entrepreneurs in the KE Global network for the benefit of its entrepreneurs, provide access to the workshops and programmes of KE Global and facilitate exchange of trade information and business tie-ups, provide common events and platforms for mutual leveraging of expertise available with them, among others.
KE Global chairman Ivan Fernandes, RACHANA president Ronald Gomes and secretary Lester D’Souza, were present at the dais.
Marcel Monteiro, immediate-past president of RACHANA presented a brief on the activities and history of RACHANA. Past-president of RACHANA, Ronald Castelino, introduced Ivan Fernandes. Vote of thanks was proposed by secretary Lester D’Souza. Trishma Pinto compered the programme.
