The couple who supported one another and clinged on to one another even at death were Krishnappa (80) and Bhagyamma (70), residents of P C Extension in the town.

Bagyamma and Krishnappa lived harmoniously together and were pillars of support to one another in all walks of life. Krishnappa suffered from diabetes while Bhagyama had breathing complications. At around 4 am on Monday December 30, they passed away together, which came as a surprise for their relatives, children and grandchildren.

Krishnappa, after having dinner, went to sleep on Sunday night. Ganesh heard him snoring at midnight and asked his father about his health. After getting satisfactory answer, he went back and slept. Ganesh had called his elder sister Shobha, living at Bethamangala near here the previous evening, asking her to come home by 6 am on Monday for taking his mother to a hospital at Bengaluru for admitting her as she was suffering from breathing complications. He and his wife went to the room of his mother at 4 am to ask her to get ready for Bengaluru trip but found that she was not breathing.

To inform this fact to Krishnappa they went to Krishnappa's room, and were shocked to see that he too was no more. Many couples too came to have the last glimpse of the couple and pray to them bless them with the boon of joining together in their last journey of life.
