Lucknow, Jan 1: Rajdeep Singh who was issued a challan after Priyanka Gandhi Vadra took a pillion ride to reach the residence of Darapuri made a statement that he will pay the amount of fine. However, Lucknow Congress committee president, Mukesh Singh Chauhan on Tuesday started crowdfunding from locals. The challan amount of Rs 6,100 was drawn after a Congress leader and Gandhi took a ride to reach the residence of IPS officer SR Darapuri who was arrested for protesting against anti-CAA.

Reportedly, at the time of riding, neither Gandhi nor the party worker wore helmets.

The donations were being collected by Chauhan from the people at a local market in Lucknow.

Over how the situation took the course, Singh said, "I was riding toward Polytechnic crossing when I saw Priyanka and Dheeraj Gurjar. Dheeraj requested for my scooter because Priyanka belongs to such a big family. I could not refuse to give her my vehicle."
