Udupi: Education Meet Brings Together Taluk Teachers, Principals

: An education meet was held at Bhavani Mantap, Ambalapady, here on Saturday September 19, by Taluk School Head Teachers’ and Pre-University College Principals’ Association.
 
District-in-charge minister Dr V S Acharya inaugurated the programme and said, “Teachers have the responsibility of motivating students to develop an interest in a variety of topics that enrich their study.  They are also instrumental in shaping the future of students to help them lead the life of a responsible citizen in the country”, he said.


 
The programme was presided over by MLA Raghupathy Bhat.
 
Ambalapady Sri Janardan Mahakali temple trustee Dr N B Ballal, deputy director of public instructions Dr Mahidas, block education officer Vasant Shetty, and Manjunatayya were present.
 
Education expert K R Hande delivered a significant lecture on the occasion. 
 
The heads of schools that bagged cent percent results in SSLC and all those that secured high marks were also honoured during the programme.
 
T Manjappa compered the programme.

    Hello SN,Thank you so much for your interesting comemnts. I did not know any of the background of the Goddess Mariyamman. How horrible that her husband and one of her sons killed her and the lady who tried to protect her! Downtrodden people everywhere need someone to look out for them. We need a Goddess like Mariyamman here in the USA. It doesn't seem the God most Americans believe in is doing a very good job.
