Mangaluru: 'BJP pre-planned December 19 anti-CAA violence' - Ramanath Rai

Mangaluru, Jan 2: Joint Action Committee of Dakshina Kannada District Secular Parties held a protest in front of Dr B R Ambedkar statue at town hall, condemning the recent violence at Mangaluru opposing Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and National Register of Citizens (NRC), in which two people were killed in police firing, on Thursday, January 2.

The protest was kicked-off by former minister B Ramanath Rai by garlanding the statue of Dr B R Ambedkar.

Addressing the protestors, former minister B Ramanath Rai said, “We demand a judicial probe into the police firing in Mangaluru that occurred on December 19, which claimed two innocent lives. During the process several allegations have come up with no proof. We demand to provide compensation to the injured as well to the families of the two deceased people.

"There is widespread protest opposing CAA and NRC and we strongly condemn the move of implementing CAA and NRC by the central government. What was the need of imposing section 144 in the entire state when there was no scope for any kind of violence? What was the need of resorting to lathi-charge when there is some protocol that needs to be followed before opening fire on protesters? Protocol was not followed during the December 19 violence. Protesting is the democratic right, which has been snatched away. We must come forward in large numbers and oppose the move by the central government.

"BJP had pre-planned the violence. Who imposed Section 144? On whose orders it was imposed? Chief minister B S Yediyurappa and home minister Basavaraj Bommai are the reason behind the violence,” he said.

MLC Ivan D’Souza, Harish Kumar, former MLA J R Lobo, Abhayachandra Jain, CPIM leaders Muneer Katipalla, Santhosh Kumar Bajal, Sunil Kumar Bajal, JD(S) leaders Mohammed Kunjhi, Akshith Suvarna and others were present.

    Lanmaam
Comparing Bebiyanna with MK Gandhi is somewhat OK, but Kodijal with Kalam?? Really???, the later maintained Celibecy dedicating his life to science and Nation, whereas your Vidhwan openly said that, Polygamy is allowed because one Women cannot satisfy men and his needs. Your Vidhwan s life is dedicated around this biology.

If any Indian thinks seriously for even a minute about the agenda BJP has in its mind it is very clear to understand things.

They want to bring the Manuvadi rule in the country like olden times. Brahmins will be at top and everyone has to salute them. See the people who are holding the top positions in BJP. Can you find any lower class people. Forget Dalits, even other caste Hindu people are not there.

VHP convention was held recently at Sanganiketan in Mangalore. All the speakers and other people holding powerful positions were of upper caste. Others will get only 'Babaji Ka Tullu'

BJP is trying to create a civil war like situation in the country by implementing all laws that will create division in the society and then take over the country and declared it as Hindu Rashtra and massacre the minorities.

Minorities and non-upper caste Hindus are in trouble. Wake up people.

    Dear Kattada Kori Shetre,
Do not fast forward the video. Initially at statebank the protesters squatted on the road. Till then they did not even throw stones on the police. As the protesters sat on the road, the police started beating them with lathis. This was the starting point.

Hope your blind eyes have seen the video of central market where known RSS affiliated people of a particular shop throwing stones on the protesters and police passing by does not even stop them.

So instigation was done by police and they wanted violence to happen and firing to take place.

Do not be biased and selective. We know how your caste people used billavas once upon a time. Now they have become smart and understand things.

There were several protests happened in India earlier where police has resorted lati charge.
But they didn't throw stones or damaged public property and tried to burn police station. Everywhere in the world stone throwers are only one religion people.

First of all, when there was Sec 144 assembling itswlf was a crime and it deserved a action, you want to a defy a law set by constitution and then you want Police to Serve Golibaje and Chutney? Any wise public would have stayed at homes which they they did, only the brainwashed booked a rickshaw tempo and pre pland this unrest.
