Karkala: NMAMIT launches new Math lab

Karkala, Jan 2: The department of Mathematics introduced the Mathematics Laboratory using an open-source software 'WXMAXIMA' for the first-year BE students during the academic year 2019-2020.

The main objective of this lab is to make the students aware of the various applications of Mathematics. In connection with this, a fully equipped lab is set up at the institute.

Dr Niranjan N Chiplunkar, principal accompanied by Dr I R Mithanthaya, vice-principal and dean (Academics) inaugurated the lab on December 28 by lighting a lamp.

Dr Kumudakshi, associate prof and head of the department of Mathematics welcomed the gathering and conveyed the significance of the lab. Heads of the various departments, faculty members of the department of Mathematics were present on the occasion.
