Teach Gita in schools to keep kids rooted to culture: Giriraj

Begusarai, Jan 2 (IANS): Union Minister Giriraj Singh has said the Bhagwat Geeta should be taught in schools to prevent children from drifting away from the culture and traditional values.

When children go abroad they start eating beef because they were not well versed in their culture and religion, he said speaking at a function. Thus, they should be taught the Bhagwat Geeta, he added.

"We send our children to the missionary schools. They get through IITs, become engineers, go abroad and start eating beef because we don't teach them our culture," the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader said.

It's not the first time that Singh has made such comments. Earlier, he said they would use techniques that the cow would bear only she-calves and there would be no case of lynching.

At elections rallies, he said those opposing Narendra Modi should go to Pakistan.

The missionary educated the people not based on caste income or creed. We have improved our life.

The vedas or upanishad or Gitas were property of a section of the people. Our forefathers subject to exploitation and and no Moksha to them or to their fore fathers.

Our forefathers by education relieved us from exploitation and today we standing in the society with knowledge and we have Moksha to us our forefathers and our next generation.

The learned wicked mind people stop jealous on the development of less privilege people of past and understand that they have knowledge of vedas gita Or upanishad. Now it's not a property of a single section of the society

I am wondering who taught religious tenets to Mr. Giriraj and whom he appointed to teach it to his progeny. Was it taught in schools in his time and then withdrawn ? As a result the generation next to his is in wrong eating habits ? Got to be, he wouldn't be so frustrated on the matter otherwise.

You had six years in the governance. If Hindus migrating to other countries in search of job is reduced, you have done a great job. Please continue your service, God will bless you abundantly. Nevertheless, please discourage export of the meat also, you will be further blessed.

Mor than culture, teach children humanity, spiritual life related to soul and not religion. These are more than enough to live as a human being on this earth.

It'll take another 5 to 7 decades to the people to understand the real color of these politicians till then these politicans will survive in the name of religion and caste. Having said that it is also important to have a moral science period in every school in their time table.

Why is this minister deciding things on behalf of people ? Let his government create so many jobs, that people need not go out of India thus stray away from traditional eating habits.

His govt is only fit for famous slogans. 'Make in India' is all hollow because the tallest statue the govt boasts about is 'Made in China; not INDIA.
