Cyprus, Sep 21: Mangalorean Konkani Catholics along with the Indian community celebrated Monti Fest at Holy Cross Church, Nicosia here on Sunday September 20.
Parish priest Fr Andrew OFM welcomed ICYM director of Karnataka region Fr Franklin and the known lay preacher Br T K George. Fr Franklin blessed the paddy corn during 11 am mass. After the mass the crowd gathered near the grotto and honoured Mother Mary by showering flower petals.
Novem Jevonn was held after the mass. Fr Franklin and Fr T K George are on their tour to preach charismatic retreat for three weeks in Cyprus. The retreat began on Sunday at 2pm. The dates the next retreat will be held are September 27, October 1 and October 4.
