Mangalore, Sep 21: A three-day Jeevan Jyoti camp for the SSLC students from the city deanery parishes - Angelore, Bajal, Cordel, Shaktinagar and Paldane, was inaugurated on Monday September 21, at Holy Cross parish hall, Kulshekar, here.  The camp will conclude on Wednesday September 23.

Fr Gregory Vaz, parish priest of Bless Mother Theresa parish, Paldane, inaugurated the programme, here on Monday.

Speaking on the occasion, Fr Vaz said that ‘Jeevan Jyoti’ camp gives an opportunity to learn the moral values, to develop leadership qualities and also provides the students an opportunity to interact with the students of the same age-group.

Fr Valerian Pinto, parish priest of Holy Cross parish, Kulshekar, presided over the programme.  He said, “You can change the world with your ideas.  The camp will help in character-building and inculcating discipline, to develop leadership qualities and also to share the ideas with others.”

Bajal parish representative Michael Andrade and Ivan Sequeira, parents’ representative, were present at the dais.

Holy Cross assistant parish priest Fr Rajesh Rosario rendered the prayer hymn, while assistant parish priest Fr Arun Lobo compered the programme.
