Mangaluru: Mass protests held against CAA,NRC

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangaluru (EP)

Mangaluru, Jan 4: “Statistics show that only two lac illegal residents live in the country. But the government claims more than one crore illegal residents are living in the country. This shows the efforts of the government to suppress Muslims,” said Malayalam film and documentary director Gopal Menon.

He was speaking on Friday, January 3, at a protest meeting held at K C junction in Talapady, against Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and National Registery of Citizens (NRC) by Sanyukta Nagarika Vedike.

“This is the land where martyrs Tipu Sultan and Gauri Lankesh were born. We will not allow implementation of the Act, even if we have to sacrifice our lives. The harmony between Hindus and Muslims should not be spoilt at any cost,” he said.

“Though Babri Masjid court verdict was pronounced in favour of Sangh Parivar, there were no untoward incidents in Talapady where Muslims are in large numbers. There is no need for police to be tensed about people in Talapady as people here are peace lovers. If the current behaviour of the Prime Minister despite knowing that all are equal in democracy continues, the government will not last till next elections. Hitler had said that he will provide good days for people but had made them drown in the sea of blood. He committed suicide when he was about to lose the war. The violations in EVM machine were proved in Amethi showing 13,000 excess votes in the machine than the number of people who came to vote. There is no need of another wrongdoing. Modi should remember the life of Hitler. History
repeats itself. Former Indian President Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed and military officer who fought in Kargil war are made victims of CAA. Attempts to divide the country on the basis of religion are condemnable,” he said.

Advocate Sudheer Kumar thanked Ullal police who allowed protests in Talapady as such protests are not possible in Mangaluru. “All of us stand with the two families of the victims of police shootout. We are prepared to campaign against BJP and Sangh Parivar, in spite of their religious attempts to divide the country by different Acts. BJP leaders should learn the meaning of state anthem.”

K C Road Al Mubarak Juma Masjid Khateeb Munir Sakhafi said that it has become a practice to make fun of Muslims by saying love jihad and terrorists. “Prophet Mohammed did not teach terrorism but compassion. The protests will continue till we get justice. People of all religions are living in harmony in the country and there are no problems,” he said.

MLA U T Khader said that the government at the centre will lose in the matter but not India. “This is the campaign of uniting the dream country of Dr B R Ambedkar. We will not allow implementation of National Register of Citizens. As a PM you have gone to Pakistan and dined there. You had begun bus and train services to Pakistan and signed agreement to play cricket. It is laughable to hear from you that protesters should go to Pakistan. We will not be afraid even if you register ten cases of treason against us,” he said.

Siddik Talapady in his key note address said that Muslim community was fragmented for the last several years. But the words ‘NCR’ have made them unite. There was a setback for community because of some people who came only for programmes saying that they are Muslim leaders. Two people were shot because of lack of leadership. The youth will unite and campaign,” he said.

Irshad Ajjinadka, Khaleel Talapady were present. Nasir welcomed the gathering. Salam Uchil compered the programme. Ashraf K C Road rendered vote of thanks.

This is the second protest in K C Road after Mangaluru unrest. Thousands of people took part. RAF, KSRP, DAR, Ullal and Konaje police had arranged strict security to avoid untoward incidents.

Just see what happened in Pakistan's Nankana Sahib gurudwara. Angry muslim mob attacked Sikh shrine Nankana Sahib in Pakistan. Now when these people are not safe there they should be brought to India. This is what the present govt. is doing.

Why ? Hindus belong only to India ? What guarantee is that India someday won't throw out other communities because India belongs to Hindus ?

Then, what about those Hindus who live in other countries ?

Modi/Shah better think about future too, not just today.

    Mr. Max,

Indians are not against giving citizenship as per existing rule which does not discriminate against any community. The protest is because CAA is discriminative. What the permitted communities do good to India by being eligible ? Why India should be compassionate on the basis of their religious affiliation ?

Will we Indians be given free entry to any country if we will be persecuted ? Will any country in the world invite with open arms all other communities (except Hindus) now that Modi govt is so adamant on CAA. Only this much. Let there be no partiality, nobody opposes CAA. We don't want everybody, or nobody. Let all wait for the number of years for their turn to be a citizen of India.

If refugees in Assam and West Bengal were sent back soon after the 1971 war and if Pakistan had honoured the Nehru-Liaqat Pact, today there would have been no need for CAA or NRC. The abduction case of a Sikh girl in Pakistan, her forcible conversion and marriage and rioting at Nankasahib has taken a serious turn. The Punjab CM Amarinder Singh who had hitherto been speaking on party lines has now hinted of justifying CAA.

These protestors are wasting their time. The implementation is the job of the central government and not the state. The government is doing what it has been elected for by the Indian majority. Keep opposing but nothing is gonna change.

All these uneducated people join for these protest without knowing the CAA / NRC act/bill. They get biryani packet and few hundred rupees (200 or 300) . All the developed nations (US,UK, France, Germany etc) have citizenship procedure and know the exact count of the citizens. It is not done based on caste / religion / minority or majority. It is not done to kickout the minorities.
If they are citizen of India, why would these people do the protest ?
Few years back, there was Aadhar card procedure introduced by congress govt. Now, it is so helpful to find illegal bank accts, fake land documents etc. NRC will help to eliminate illegal citizens .
Last 70 years, Congress govt fed these minorities as their vote bank and never gave the required education or skills to survive in the India. Now, with Modi's equal preferences for all religion, these minorities get scared of their survivals.
This country has visionary leaders who can take India to 4-5 trillion $ economy. If people protest to these silly issues, India will never be become DEVELOPED nation.

India should not allow illegal immigrants of whatever religion to swell the ranks of dissidents; if there are persecuted Muslims because of their faith, such as the Shias, and they or their ancestors were Indian citizens at the time of Independence, they should have a place in India.

People who are blindly supporting CAA, NRC, please note, a census is in the pipeline. Officers will be on your doorstep asking for information about your ancestors' place of birth and related proof. Irrespective of which religion you belong to. Even if your father is dead. There are 50% of Indians of the older generation, who don't have a birth certificate because those the birth was not taking place in hospitals from a birth record was issued. The protesters of CAA/NRC are not just Muslims - there are all community people protesting it. Those who don't know the intensity of the law, hail Modi & Shah while enjoying the fun.

No, I am not against this census. What is not correct is, the method it is being done. Our borders are not seal-proof. People keep infiltrating, by bribing the guards. Modi govt should have first stopped this since 2014. Nepalis, Bangladeshis and Pakistanis have reached till Kanyakumari, working as traders or labourers. Just see our construction sites - all Nepali/Bangli speaking workers. Are they Indians ?

Why ? We Indians are going abroad to work as labourers. See the harsh conditions they are subjected to. Why our people couldn't be given the same job here in India ? Well, they earn foreign currency - right ? We need foreign currency whether by letting infiltrators do our dirty work, or exporting Beef. But, on the forefront, we are saints !

    Jai Bharat Maata.. !
