Beltangady: Uprooted Areca Nut Tree Kills Man

Beltangady,Sep 22:  Narayan Rai (820, an agriculturist living in Pollugudde in Gardady village of the taluk, was killed by an areca nut tree that fell on him all of a sudden. Rai was reportedly strolling in his areca nut plantation when the tree got uprooted.

Rai was critically injured in the incident. He breathed his last, while being taken to a hospital. Based on a complaint filed by Harish Shetty, son-in-law of Rai, Beltangady policemen have registered a case.
