Mangalore: Governor H R Bharadwaj inaugurates Mangalore Dasara

Mangalore, Sep 22: Karnataka Governor H R Bharadwaj inaugurated the Mangalore Dasara celebrations at Kudroli Gokarnanatha temple premises on Tuesday September 22.
Speaking after the inauguration, Governor said that India’s good name is recognized in all over the Arab countries, where Muslims and all the other community people are living side by side with good relationship maintaining communal harmony. Such relationship should be continued and the harmony should not be disturbed. He added saying that festivals like Mangalore Dasara and the participation by all communities helps to bond the people together.
`I am very happy and excited to inaugurate the Mangalore Dasara programme which is celebrated with great communal harmony, where people of all communities participate’ he said adding “that the Indian constitution clearly states the value of living and maintaining the harmony is the greatest fundamental basics and respect to the great Indian the constitution.”
On this occasion Former Union Minister and promoter of the Kudroli temple, B Janardhana Poojary said that the Mangalore Dasara and the Navarathri celebrations are conducted since last 19 years with communal harmony, with help and active participation by all communities of the region.
Prafulatha Bhradwaj wife of Governor H R Bharadwaj, Jaya C Suvarna, President of Rastriya Billavara Mahamandala, K P Nanjundi, President of Akhila Karnataka Vishwakarma Mahasabha were the chief guests. President of Gokarnanatha Kshetra Development committee, Vice president Raghavendra Kuloor and trustees were also present on the occasion..
The Navarathri celebration at Kudroli temple was inaugurated on Saturday September 19 honouring Goddess Sharada devi and nine idols of Navadurges.
The `Mangalore dasara procession’ (emersion procession) will be held on Monday September 28 on the last day of 10 days celebrations, which attracts large number of devotees from all communities.
