UP-Nepal border on high alert after LeT infiltration input


Lucknow, Jan 5 (IANS): A high alert has been sounded along the India-Nepal border in Uttar Pradesh after intelligence inputs that two Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists were trying to enter the state.

According to Inspector General of Police, Basti Range, Ashutosh Kumar, there is information about two terrorists trying to enter UP via the Basti-Gorakhpur range. The high alert has been issued in districts including Siddharthanagar adjacent to Nepal.

Police said that photos of both the terror suspects - Khwaja Moinuddin and Abdul Samad have been circulated and local intelligence agencies have been tracking the two.

Officials, however, did not say whether the location of the two had been traced.
