Congress promises no CAA, NPR & NRC in Delhi

New Delhi, Jan 5 (IANS): The Congress here on Sunday demanded one-day special Delhi Assembly session to clear the ruling Aam Aadmi Party's (AAP) stand over the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and also announced that if voted to power it would not allow the CAA, the NPR and the NRC in Delhi.

Ajay Maken, Delhi Congress manifesto committee chairman, tweeted, "Congress big announcement about CAA, NPR and NRC - will not apply in Delhi if they come to power."

The CAA offers to give citizenship to refugees of the religiously persecuted communities -- Hindu, Sikh, Parsi, Buddhist and Christian -- from Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh.

First of all any of the victims of religious persecution
Have documents to prove that they arrived here before 2014.
How does the govt prove that they migrated because of persecution or for better pastures.
How does the govt prove that they are not Muslims and if Muslims by forced conversion. They could be spies or terrorists.
Why an unpopular law made in this regard as this is a normal procedure of any country to catch and deport any illegal immigrant or over stayed foreigner if proven. Subsequently why a detention centre if govt assures it's about giving citizenship and not taking away and no harassment.
