Haryana Speaker faces protests over JNU violence


Chandigarh, Jan 6 (IANS): BJP leader and Haryana Speaker Gian Chand Gupta on Monday faced outrage at the Panjab University campus here over the violence at the Jawaharlal Nehru University in Delhi.

As Gupta was speaking at a seminar, protesters comprising women students, started shouting slogans. They were whisked away by the security from the seminar hall.

The protesters were raising slogans and condemning the attack.

Gupta described the protest as "a planned act".

According to reports, miscreants entered the JNU campus on Sunday evening and beat up students and professors, leaving at least 37 people injured.
