Dubai / Thiruvananthapuram, Sep 24 (IANS) The India Pavilion, to be set up at the Global Village in the forthcoming edition of the Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF) will have an exclusive section showcasing Kerala's products.

Addressing reporters Thursday, Brij Bhalla and Nissar Syed, the promoters of the Kerala section, said that the Global Village would open Nov 22.

"The Global Village will see participation from more than 80 countries. Besides trade fairs, there will also be cultural programmes from the countries participating," said Syed.

The month-long shopping festival will be held from Jan 15 to Feb 15 2010.

"We propose to have around 50 stalls in the section and depending on the demand, the number of stalls and space allocated for the section will be increased. The builders and companies producing ethnic food items in Kerala have already evinced keen interest," he said.

The section would also feature handicrafts, garments, jewellery, fashion accessories and traditional and modern furniture.
