Udupi, Jan 8: “The application for approval of housing plan for homeless people submitted when Pramod Madhwaraj was the MLA was rejected by Rajiv Gandhi Housing Board for lack of suitable Detailed Project Report. There is no connection between that scheme and the proposed housing scheme planned in Herga village,” said Udupi MLA Raghupathi Bhat.
Speaking to reporters in Udupi on Tuesday, January 7, he said that the housing plan proposed by Pramod Madhwaraj was rejected by the board in August 2018. He said, “Pramod Madhwaraj, during elections to obtain votes, had allotted sites to beneficiaries picking lots before obtaining approval. The beneficiaries of that scheme are now asking me when they will get the flats.
“There is no connection between Rajiv Gandhi Housing Scheme referred to by Pramod Madhwaraj and Prime Minister’s Awas Scheme,” he said.
