Mangalore: 'Samprathi 09' - National Seminar on Today’s Lifestyle at SAC

Mangalore, Sep 25: A national seminar titled ‘Samprathi 09’, on the subject, ‘Today’s Lifestyle: A Challenge for Well-being..? is being organized by the MSW department of St Aloysius College (SAC) in the city, on Thursday September 24 and Friday. The venue of the event is Eric Mathias Hall, located in the IT Building of the college campus.
The seminar was inaugurated by Nitte University chancellor, N Vinay Hegde at 9.30 am on Thursday. Dr Anuradha Sovani, clinical psychologist (associate professor) of the University of Mumbai’s department of applied psychology, delivered the keynote address. Various sessions on issues related with lifestyle, were guided by eminent resource persons.
A panel discussion titled ‘Adult Lifestyles: Rated or Adulterated,’ to analyze the social fragmentation due to intolerance and hollow glamorous life that is dictated by the media and fashions, was also scheduled.
The valedictory function of ‘Samprathi 09’ will be held today at 3.45 pm at the first block of Eric Mathias Hall. Giselle D Mehtha, ex IRS, will be the chief guest. The function will be presided over by St Aloysius College principal, Fr Swebert D’Silva, a release by the MSW department of the college, said.
