New Delhi, Jan 8 (IANS): Former Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday hit out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah for government's 'anti-people', 'anti-labour' policies that he said have created "catastrophic unemployment". Rahul Gandhi said he salutes the 25 crore workers for calling Bharat Bandh.

"The Modi-Shah Government's anti people, anti labour policies have created catastrophic unemployment & are weakening our PSUs to justify their sale to Modi's crony capitalist friends. Today, over 25 crore workers have called for Bharat Bandh 2020 in protest. I salute them," he tweeted.

Rahul Gandhi's remark came in the wake of nation-wide strike called by the All India Trade Union Congress (AITUC), Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU), Indian National Trade Union Congress and Labour Progressive Federation (LPF) to protest against the Central government's policies to privatise state-run undertakings.

    What an irony. RaGa should be the happiest person on earth and must be laughing his pants off looking his current state and state of affairs in his party. Despite 50 odd defeats, ridiculed and a butt of jokes on social media, what ever he blurts out, even if its nonsense is lapped up and praised to the skies by his party members. When the going gets a bit shaky RaGa jets abroad and disappears for couple of weeks for the situation to die down by itself. His speech writer will have script ready when he is back for him to shout at the top of his lungs. His chelas will be at work again , show causing him as the next PM.
    Come elections, contesting and a victory is guaranteed for him in some corner of the nation in a Muslim majority constituency just to keep his career afloat and relevance in politics.
