Moodbidri: Devotee Offers Golden Crown to Goddess Sharada

Moodbidri, Sep 25: Mumbai entrepreneur Nandakumar donated a gold crown to Goddess Sharada on Friday September 25 on the occasion of the 20th Sharada Mahotsav at the temple in Moodbidri, near here.   



Alva’s Education Foundation chairman Dr M Mohan Alva inaugurated the programme on Friday evening.

Nandakumar also donated a golden plate and spoon to the Sharada Mahotsav committee.

Sandalwood movie actor and producer Sundar Hegde, S D Sampath Samrajya, senate member of Agriculture University, Purandar Poojary, regional overseer, Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala Rural Development Project Puttige, and committee members were present on the dais.

 

The three-day festivities will conclude on Sunday September 27. 

Yoga and drawing competitions for high school and primary school students under Moodbidri education block will be held on Saturday September 26 and Sunday September 27.  A drama troupe from Mangalore will stage plays as part of the entertainment programme on Saturday and Sunday nights. 

The decorated idol of Goddess Sharada will be immersed in a lake beside the temple here on Sunday evening after a ceremonious procession along the streets.
