Bantwal, Jan 10: Posters saying, ‘We know that National Registry of Citizens (NRC), Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and National Population Register (NPR) are Acts against the Constitution. We do not need awareness on them. You do not have to come here’, are pasted in front of several houses in Bantwal. There is strong opposition for CAA and NRC here.

As protests against NRC, CAA and NPR have continued throughout the country, BJP has begun several ways to obtain people’s support. They have started door-to-door visits under the leadership of Bantwal MLA U Rajesh Naik in support of CAA at Bantwal Kelaginapete. But Bantwal taluk Talapady Al Rahma Foundation has pasted posters in houses in the vicinity against NRC, CAA and NPR completely boycotting the Acts.

Slogans against the Acts can be seen at taluk and hobli center and some villages. A post card movement to Supreme Court has begun. The campaign to paste posters was set in motion at Talapady. People are receiving posters and sticking them on the walls of their houses. There are plans to hang boards in each mosque premises as part of the protest.
