Gauri Lankesh murder - Absconding accused held in Jharkhand

Bengaluru, Jan 10: The special investigation team (SIT) probing the sensational gunning down of journalist Gauri Lankesh, in the city on September 5, 2017, has been able to arrest another main accused in the case. With this, the number of people arrested in the case has reached 18.

The man now arrested is Rishikesh Devadikar alias Murali (44), native of Dhanbad in Jharkhand. The SIT police raided the residence of the accused in Katras in Jharkhand on Thursday, January 9 evening and took some evidences into possession.

SIT head M N Anuchet said that Murali would be produced on Friday in the local court, and then be brought to the city on the basis of transit warrant. Thereafter, inquest would be held, he added.

    With all respects. She would have passed into history as any normal person.
    It is stupid people like these who had misguided idea of religion/way of life that today, Gauri Lankesh is a martyr. What a shame, that this guy and his handlers did not have problem killing a lady, which is not what this religion/way of life teaches.

    I watched some of her videos and she is a bit above the average person in the media. Failed to inspire whatsoever.

    Gauri Lankesh ...I was not a fan of hers..but as a human being I was saddened by her murder. Now when will the perpetrators be punished? We will have to wait n see.
