New Delhi, Jan 11 (IANS): As Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) Tejas developed for the Navy successfully performed an arrested landing on India's only aircraft carrier INS Vikramaditya on Saturday, Twitterati hailed the scientists and the Navy for the feat.

The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) wrote on @DRDO_India: "After completing extensive trials on the shore-based test facility, DRDO, ADA developed LCA Navy did an arrested landing on INS Vikramaditya successfully today at 10.02 am. Commodore Jaideep Maolankar did the maiden landing."

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh tweeted at @rajnathsingh: "Extremely happy to learn of the maiden landing of DRDO-developed LCA Navy on INS Vikramaditya. This successful landing is a great event in the history of Indian fighter aircraft development programme. Congratulations to Team @DRDO_India & @indiannavy for this achievement."

The Naval LCA is expected to attempt its maiden take-off from the carrier soon.
