CAA about giving rights, not taking them away: PM Modi

Belur Math (West Bengal), Jan 12 (IANS): Clearing misconceptions on amended Citizenship Act or CAA allegedly being fuelled by opposition parties, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday clarified that the law is about giving rights and not about taking them away.

Speaking on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, the day when India celebrates National Youth Day across the country, Modi said youth and other citizens of the country are being misled on the CAA which came into force on Friday almost a month after Parliament passed it on December 11.

"CAA is a law to provide citizenship, it does not snatch citizenship. The government is providing citizenship through the law, it is not taking back the citizenship of anyone," Modi said while addressing youth at Belur Math.

The Prime Minister said that the CAA provides citizenship to those migrants who faced persecution in the name of religion in Bangladesh, Pakistan and Afghanistan. "The people who believe in the Constitution of India will be given citizenship on the basis of certain legalities."

He said that the government is following the path shown by Mahatma Gandhi and the new citizenship law is facilitating those migrants facing persecution.

The Prime Minister's remarks related to CAA came in the backdrop of violent protests in different cities across the country against the law which experts say is against the Muslim community.

He also called upon the youth to clear misconceptions from the minds of people about the new law.

The law grants citizenship to migrants of six non-Muslim communities -- Hindu, Sikh, Buddhist, Jain, Parsi and Christian -- from Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan till December 31, 2014.

This is same as giving 15 Lakh rupees to every citizen. None will trust our PM even if tells truth coz none of this words found to be true. ami shah is another jumla baaz who tells nothing but lie. He has taken oath in the name of Indian constitution to tell lie and nothing else. They lie whenever they open their mouths. Even every child in india knows that they are not telling the truth. What is the need of CAA when this process is ongoing for the last many years. We need job and peace in our country. We dont want to face problem by inflow of people from other countries. We are already unemloyed here and our lives will be risky and unsale if more unemployed people come from other countries. If bjp is no interested in inviting people from other countries let them stay in the Gurukulas started by Yogi and share with them. Let Ambani and Adani provide them employment in the benami companies. let few of them stay in Mukesh Ambani\s 24 floor residence as he and his family are using one floor hardly. Let him give shelter to the new Indians bjp is inviting from other countries.

Without CAA also political and religiously or otherwise oppressed refugees from all the countries, have found India as safe shelter and many have received citizenship as well all through out India's history, without any discrimination and differentiation. End of the day, it was always the Govt. of India, who was issuing them the citizenship

So, what wrong with Modi's C.A.A. and what Modi want to tell the world? First it differentiates between religion. This is to ignite anger within religions within India.

2ndly, letz suppose Hindu fly who already been converted forcibly in Pakistan. They won't get the citizenship, because they are Muslim. So, it is not going to help the oppressed really. Further, this act is to ignite anger and atrocities in those countries against the minorities, which can then be played in Times now or republic channels to push BJP agenda of religious divide.

Even illiterates can understand this, but one can not argue or debate with a blind modi bhakth.
