BJP MLA says will quit if Muslims are evicted in CAA

Gorakhpur, Jan 13 (IANS): In a surprise statement, BJP MLA from Gorakhpur, Dr Radha Mohan Das Agarwal, has said that he will resign from his membership of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly "if any Indian Muslim of his constituency is evicted from the country during the CAA exercise".

Agarwal, who has been a legislator since 2002, is reaching out to Muslims in his constituency as part of BJP's mass contact programme to dispel myths over the CAA.

"During the contact programme, I have assured Muslims that I will tender my resignation if any genuine Indian Muslim citizen of my constituency in Gorakhpur is evicted under the CAA," he told reporters.

He further said, "In fact, wherever I am going, I am asking people what is the basis of their fear that the CAA would take away citizenship of Indian Muslims.

"I am trying my best to dispel doubts of the Muslim people regarding the Act which is meant for giving citizenship to the prosecuted non-Muslims from Bangladesh, Pakistan and Afghanistan."

Through his Facebook posts, Dr Radha Mohan Das Agarwal has also asked people to invite him to meetings of Muslim community with a gathering of at least 5,000 people to get their fears over Citizenship Amendment Act allayed through dialogue and facts.

When their boss playing double standard,
Modi has said in the rally, no discussion with regard to NCR and CAA has been discussed ever. In the parliament his Home Minister blindly said NRC and CAA will be implemented all over India. And except Muslim all other religion will get citizenship who fails to produce documents under CAA.
PM Saïd no detention centres have been built, but first of all in Karnataka detention centre has come up.
So, now Dr. Radha Mohandas Agrawal, have you got any authority to give these kind of statements, on whose behalf u give assurance to the muslims.
From the day one BJP laying to the people of India , who is going to believe u.
It is nothing but eye wash. Please let people protest and will see the result. But don’t misguide the innocence Muslims of India. They don’t believe you.

Be careful. Note his words clearly. He says 'I will tender my resignation if any 'GENUINE' Indian Muslim citizen of my constituency in Gorakhpur is evicted under the CAA. This is just a very pleasing rhetoric. And our politicians are very good at it. Now who ultimately decides who is genuine and who is not! It will be the Government officials who are totally and blindly subservient to the Government. Once you go to the office to register as a citizen, it is they who have the final word. Moreover, are we as poor Indians ready to go through this tedious and tiresome process of queuing up and running from pillar to post in the name of registering. Do we have the time and resources to do so. Moreover do our poor and illiterate majority have the know-how to get their documents done. God help us. I am really afraid. So I have my serious doubts about their intentions. Of course in God we trust ultimately.

Hypocrisy at its peak. When you apply for job or buy a new car or buy a property or apply for a passport or going abroad, you need to provide all documents to prove your identity. So what's wrong in showing that, why you are fooling yourself and others?
Will you say that if you travel to Makkah or Rome that I am Indian see my face or you show your passport? Tell once to these nations that paper nahi dikhayenege then see your fate.

This law is only for persecuted minorities not for majorities in their respective countries. Tomorrow any Hindu cannot say he has been persecuted in India if other than Hindus feels there are persecuted in India they can go to any country where they will accept them.

NRC is for every Indian citizen irrespective of any religion one needs to give any documents to prove his identity so that India will have complete details of its citizens. If you are Hindu or Muslim but you need to show the documents, what's wrong in that. If you have one, there are other options to bring 3 witnesses. I dont know whats wrong in that every country has this register. If you dont want to show then its serious concern because you are saving yourself or you are saving others both are dangerous for the country.
