Mangaluru: 'Frosty Fiesta' Christmas cum New Year programme celebrated at FHMC Deralakatte

Mangaluru, Jan 14: 'Frosty Fiesta', a Christmas cum New Year programme was recently held at the Father Muller Homoeopathic Medical College premises. The programme was organized by the Jesus Youth group of FHMC Deralakatte along with the cultural committee of FMHMC coordinated by Dr Deepa Rebello, cultural coordinator.

It began with a prayer song by the BHMS students. Fr Roshan Crasta, administrator of Father Muller Homoeopathic Medical College welcomed the gathering. In his welcome address, he shared the services rendered by the director, Fr Aloysius Coelho of Father Muller Charitable Institutions for taking measures for the safety of the students to reach their hometowns during the period of unrest in the city.



All the participants, contributors and winners of the various college activities were felicitated on this occasion. The throwball team members who won the RGUHS intercollegiate tournament were felicitated with an award. The young researchers who completed the STSH research projects taken up in the year 2018-19 were felicitated with a memento. Dr Sooraj who coordinated the Christmas programme held at Kankanady performed by the students was felicitated. The Post Graduate students, Dr Midhun and Dr Febin along with their team were felicitated for putting up a creative crib at the Deralakatte campus. Sr Sowmya and her team were also felicitated for putting up the crib at the chapel.

The Souvenir 2019 of the Homoeopathic Conference was released during this programme by the director, Fr Richard Aloysius Coelho. The administrator, Fr Roshan Crasta, principal, Dr Shivaprasad K, Dr Arun Varghese, chairman of the Souvenir Committee, Dr Kurian P J, convenor, Invenio 2019 were present on the occasion.

After the release, Fr Richard Aloysius Coelho delivered his New Year message. He said, "The joy of Christmas is love and it is because God is with us and we share love. He wished that the New Year be a year of happiness. He also congratulated the young researchers and appreciated the Christmas programme presented by the homoeopathic college students at Kankanady.

The vote of thanks was proposed by Dr Shivaprasad K.

After the inaugural programme, Anolin, J Y group coordinator introduced the judges, Fr Maxim D'Souza, professor, St Joseph’s Seminary and Dr Suraj Francis Noronha, assistant professor, Manipal University.

The teaching staff of Father Muller Homoeopathic Medical College put up a special performance before the carol competitions began. Later, the students participated in the carol singing and depiction of the birth of Christ.

The first place was bagged by postgraduates, second place by II BHMS and third place by III and IV BHMS.

The programme concluded with entertainment by the vibrant Santas of all the classes.
