Mangaluru, Jan 17: Former union minister and MLC CM Ibrahim attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and home minister Amit Shah over CAA and NRC. He also accused them that both are trying to allow the terrorists to enter India in the name of CAA.

Addressing the media here on Friday, January 17, Ibrahim said, “Modi and Shah, who are ruling currently in India do not have any national interest and even they do not know how to run a country as per the Indian Constitution. They are behaving like agents of few businessmen and trying to sell everything to them. To hide their failure in administration, they are threatening people in the name of CAA and NRC. But it will not work. The wise citizens of India will teach a lesson to them at the right time.

“Voters gave them a five-year term to serve the nation and its citizens. They do not have the authority to say that a citizen is not Indian or ask documents to prove his or her citizenship. Modi and Shah are acting against our constitution and the dream of our freedom fighters. Modi and Shah should answer in which concentration camp they will put 65 crore people, who belong to particular community and religion. They have all the rights to rule India as per the terms of our constitution. But now they trying to neglect constitution and are imposing their own rules on India's citizens. People already understood this and day by day they are coming on to the streets with protests and anti-government slogans. It is my kind advice to Modi and Shah to please look into the protesters, students and intellectuals and give a clarification on CAA and NRC.

“Modi-led union government failed to stop price hike for food items. During his term, the Reserve Bank of India has lost control over other banks. By demonetization no changes took place. But poor people were forced to stand in long queues and run to banks to save their hard earned money. At the same time, the people who looted India, safely left the country. Modi and Shah could not stop them. In the issue of CAA and NRC also the same thing will happen. People will be forced to stand in queue in front of village and panchayat offices. It may continue for many months and those who fail to stand in queue due to various health and other reasons will lose their citizenship,” he said.

Ivan D’Souza, MLC, U T Khader, MLA and Naveen D’Souza, corporator were present.
