Mithali, Mary, Dutee take up #PlankforIndia challenge


New Delhi, Jan 17 (IANS): Indian women's ODI captain Mithali Raj, ace sprinter Dutee Chand and boxing great Mary Kom are among those who have taken the #PlankForIndia challenge to support India's emerging sports stars.

The three athletes posted videos on their Instagram pages of them doing the plank, a core strength exercise that involves maintaining a position similar to a push up for as long as possible.

The initiative has been started by Bajaj Allianz Life.

"The Plankathon is a part of the various health initiatives undertaken by the company in an effort to incorporate healthy living among people in India. Significantly, this is the first time that any company from the BFSI sector that has entered into the prestigious Guinness World Records," the company said in a release.
