Daijiworld Media Network - Sullia (SP)

Sullia, Oct 7: After the water level in Darpana Teertha rivulet flowing by the side of Subrahmanya swelled due to the recent heavy rains, a huge log came floating down the rivulet and hit the connecting bridge between Subrahmanya in the taluk and Arigudi village. Due to the impact of the incident, the foot-bridge broke into three pieces, as a result of which, the only connecting link the Arigudi villagers had to Subrahmanya, has been cut off.

About 50 families living in the village have lost the link to nearby villages as a result.

The foot-bridge had been erected five years ago. Another connecting bridge located at Kallugudde had crashed in the past, and the people of Kallugudde village too used to take a detour via Arigudi Bridge after that incident. The people have lot of problems on hand because of the demolition of the Arigudi Bridge now.
