Sevak has turned golden and is heading towards century without doubt. Capuchins deserve kudos not only for running Sevak for 50 years, but need to be applauded for inspiring thousands of young writers to take up writing, hundreds of young men and women to respond to religious calling, uniting innumerable families and of recent for ushering a new era in Konkani journalism. Whatever the critics say, many would not disagree with me when I say that it is not easy to have over 18,000 subscriptions for a Konkani monthly. While the hard work, dedication and enthusiasm of Fr John Harry has worked wonders, the commitment and love for Konkani of founder Fr Vincent and all those who succeeded him later such Frs Prasad, V J, Vitus, George, Roshan, Rupert, Eddie, Prashant, Chetan,Prakash, needs a special mention. I've been lucky to have associated quite closely with all of them and they have inspired me always. For all my association with Capuchins, for I saw a Capuchin first when I popped out my mom's hands as a toddler in my parish, I would have loved to be part of this celebration. But I am away physically but my love and fondness for Capuchins and 'Capuchinism'would never cease. You have made me what I am today and have been my inspiration for all my works. Carry on with this devine task of building families and educating society, for we need more practioners than preachers, more students than teachers and more humans than saints. Hail the Capuchin Friar Minor..May 50 turn into 100.
