Mangalore: Kateel Temple Donates 10,000 Saris for Flood-affected People

Mangalore, Oct 12: About 10,000 saris, costing Rs 40 lac, were dispatched from Katil Sri Durgaparameshwari Temple on Saturday October 10  night, for being distributed to the flood victims of Bellary district.

The saris were loaded on to a truck owned by Ganesh Shipping Transport. Temple priest Vasudev Asranna, Venkataramana Asranna, Lakshminarayan Asranna, Harinarayanadasa Asranna, Anantapadmanabh Asranna, Kamaladevi Prasad Asranna, temple manager Vishweshwar Rao, MLA K Abhaychandra Jain, Harikrishna Punaroor, Bhuvanabhirama Udupa, Deviprasad Shetty and several others were present, when the truck was seen off.

The saris will be distributed to the villagers affected by the floods on Monday and Tuesday evenings, in the presence of priest Anant Asranna, temple manager Vishweshwar Rao and minister Janardhan Reddy, temple sources revealed.
