Jammu, Jan 31 (IANS): A militant was killed in an encounter on Friday near Jammu, police said.
The incident took place at around 5.45 a.m., when a police team was randomly checking vehicles near the Nagrota toll post on the Jammu-Srinagar highway and intercepted a Srinagar-bound truck.
The terrorists who were inside the truck fired at the police, injuring one policeman.
The police retaliated and shot dead one militant.
The other terrorists said to be a group of two to three, ran towards the forest area.
A search operation was underway to track down the militants.
