Birdi relieved by J&K govt to take charge as DIG, NIA


Srinagar, Feb 1 (IANS): IPS officer Vidhi Kumar Birdi has been relieved by the Jammu and Kashmir government to take charge as Deputy Inspector General (DIG) in the National Investigation Agency (NIA).

Birdi, a 2003 batch J&K cadre officer, will be joining the premier investigating agency on a deputation basis for five years. He was presently posted as DIG, CKR, Srinagar.

An order issued by J&K's Principal Secretary, Home, Shaleen Kabra, said that IPS officer M. Suleman Choudhary, who is currently DIG, SKR, Baramulla, will hold charge of the post of DIG, Srinagar till further orders, in addition to his own duties.
