Growth oriented budget, says TN Chief Minister Palaniswami


Chennai, Feb 1 (IANS): Tamil Nadu Chief Minister K.Palaniswami termed the Union Budget for 2020-21 presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Saturday as "growth- oriented".

In a statement issued here Palaniswami said the budget has been drawn with focus on infrastructure development, agriculture, irrigation and rural development.

He welcomed the special scheme for 100 water stressed districts in the country and also the solar power scheme on fallow land.

Palaniswami requested the Central government to set up the National Police University or National Forensic University in Tamil Nadu.

Thanking Sitharaman for including Adhichanallur as part of upgrading five archaeological sites in the country, he requested the Central government to add Keezhadi archaeological site also.
