Union Budget disappointing, says Raj CM

Jaipur, Feb (IANS): Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Saturday termed the Union Budget as disappointing in a series of tweets, and said that "the much-awaited Budget in which the Finance Minister was expected to announce some real measures to boost the economy has turned out to be lacklustre and very disappointing.

Despite such a long speech, there was no concrete plan to revive the economy and address the issues that has led to economic slowdown, the Chief Minister said.

One of his tweets read, "The youth of the country were waiting to see some plans for job creation, but the #Budget2020 dashed their hopes completely. Without a vision for growth and without a plan to generate jobs, how would the economy be revived?"

Gehlot also expressed concern over the government deciding to sell a part of its stake in LIC as he tweeted, "The announcement that Govt would sell part of its stake in LIC is disappointing. Common people who have invested their hard-earned money in LIC will now feel cheated. Govt must not put people's deposits in danger in a bid to privatise LIC. #Budget2020."
