PM Modi 'upset' with Hegde, MP may be blocked from BJP Parliamentary meet

New Delhi, Feb 4 (IANS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi is believed to be "very upset" with party Katnataka MP Ananthkumar Hegde's comments on Mahatma Gandhi, say sources. So much so that not only a showcause notice is being served to him but he may face temporary suspension from attending BJP's Parliamentary party meetings.

The notice that is being served to Hegde seeks to know why action should not be taken against the lawmaker. The BJP is also mulling him to block from attending the Parliamentary party meeting for the rest of the Budget session.

This strong action against Hegde is being thought about, after the PM expressed his deep displeasure to the BJP top brass on Monday. The BJP too thinks it to be counter productive, given the BJP-led Centre celebrated the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi amid much fanfare.

The former Union Minister had attacked Mahatma Gandhi while addressing an event in Bengaluru, and termed the freedom movement as drama, questioning how such people could be called Mahatma.

The MP from Uttara Kannada has been in the news for all the wrong reasons. Hegde alleged that "the freedom movement was staged with consent and support of the British".

"It was not a genuine fight but was an adjustment freedom struggle," he had said.

This is a bigger drama by the greatest con artist - Delhi election's.
He should have been sacked, not the first time Hegde has spoken senselessly, there are others too trained at the RSS Shakhas (similar to Madrasas) who only know to spew venom and hatred and create a divisive India.

There can be ideological difference between the diffrent political parties in india but no party or any leader have right to pass such kind of remark about father of the nation. After 72 years of freedom we dont have any right to Express our views for our great leaders.Mahatma Gandhi is symbol for non violence freedom movement in the entire world.BJP leaders have crossed all the limits on criticism of Mahatma Gandhi.Priminiter must take strict action.
We dont know today in what circumstances they carried out the struggle and what were challenges before them.We must learn to respect our leaders who build our nation who ever they may be and from which political party they were.Today we live in a free country where have all kind of freedom.Just for our political advantage pl dont cross your limit.People will.never tolerate this kind of behaviour about our national heroes.Dont think that BJP power will remain in the karnatka or India.Think about national growth and prosperity think of our unity think about our serious national.problem think about how we can eradicate poverty and unemployment.Stop the politics of hate.Enough is enough.we the citizen of India wants peace prosperity and growth of the nation. We can only feel proud citizen of india when we all are able to show the world that we always live in peace with brotherhood .Jai Hind 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

This is just window dressing. On one side elements like this are encouraged to speak this way and on the other hand our PM goes overseas and talks about Gandhian values to fool world leaders. When rapped on the knuckles lame statements of anguish are made to fool the public and the culprit goes free and is later rewarded. This has been happening time and again over the past six years.

Modiji your reaction came bit late but whatever action you have taken on MP Hegde is worth the magnitude of insult he threw against Mahatma Gandhi. There are others too from some other organization who time and again use abusive and insulting language. Such people are responsible for spoiling the parties image.

Hegde has crossed all limits of decency and he should have been reprimanded much earlier than this. Not only serve a notice on him, this characterless person should not be allowed to come anywhere close to the Parliament House. Since the BJP has been tolerating all his nonsense so long, he thinks he can utter whatever nonsense he wants. Actually, the people are to blame for electing such a ruffian. Or better still, send him to some mental asylum and get his sick mind treated.

Whoever speaks against the values based in our sacred constitution, viz. speaking against religion, language, race, gender or national leaders and create atmosphere of animosity and hatred between the brethren, their actions against spirit of nationality.
Irrespective of whether they are small or big, whichever party they may belong, sedition charges should be applied on them and accordingly legal action should be taken on them. Then people will fall in line and follow the rules of the land.
