Mangaluru: Walker cum chair invented by Pritesh selected for state-level competition

Mangaluru, Feb 5: A walker cum chair model prepared by village talent, Pritesh drew attention at district level inspire award Science fair held at Pilikula Shivaram Karanth vijnyana Bhavan, Pilikula on January 29 and 30. The model got selected for state-level competition. Pritesh is a seventh standard student of Dakshina Kannada zilla panchayat upgraded higher primary school, Hoo Hakuva Kallu.

“I saw my grandfather struggling to walk holding the walker. I told him that I will prepare a chair for him to sit when he feels tired while walking holding on to the walker. But the grandfather did not give the chair and shouted at me to be quiet. I prepared a chair for the same walker after his death and explained it to my Science teacher,” he said.

The teacher who saw the talent of the boy guided him to prepare the model for Inspire Award. He is eager to further develop the model under the guidance of the Science teacher Sarita Sequeira and get a prize at the state level.

Pritesh is the son of Hoo Hakuva Kallu site residents Harish and Asha.
