Mangalore, Oct 19: The special children of ‘Saanidya Samartha’ residential school in Shakthinagar celebrated Diwali in a unique manner with guests and donors in association with Manjunatha Friends Circle, Kadri, and State Bank of India, on Monday October 19.

The children enjoyed Diwali by bursting crackers at the school which was attractively illuminated and decorated. The lights and sounds of the fireworks were greeted enthusiastically by these children.

Guest of the occasion, deputy commissioner V Ponnuraj, sharing his happy moments with the children, said that Saanidya School ranks first due to its service and infrastructure.  He praised the management of the school for its excellent service and training of the challenged students. 










































Mariamma Thomas, local corporator, said that the school has a standing apart from other such schools due to its programmes and celebrations of which Diwali is one.

Well-wishers of the school, Bhasker and family, were honoured on the occasion. Children of the school also participated in the entertainment programme.   

Puttaswami, deputy director, children welfare department, Viswas Kumar Das, Congress leader, businessman Amrith Kadri, Hemachandra, president, Manjunatha Friends Circle, Mahabala Marla, president of school management committee, and secretary Vasantha Shetty were present on the occasion.

    I saw children smiling on Diwali day. Let the brightness of lights remain on them is our prayer.Our best wishes to all the inmates as well as to the founder members & also the administative staff who taking lot of pain in bringing up these children.Hats off to saanidya & pray God's blessings on them Oswald & Teresa
