Mangaluru, Feb 10: Sandalwood’s promising actress Manvitha Kamath recalled her days at St Aloysius College on Monday, February 10. She visited St Aloysius College to inaugurate ‘Shooting Stars’, a national level film making seminar, panel discussion, workshop and screening.
Manvitha Kamath was born to Harish Kamath and Sujatha Kamath. She graduated in Journalism, animation and English literature from St Aloysius College. Manvitha was in theatres in folk drama troupe of late Bhaskar Nelliteertha. She was an active student dedicated to academics and talented all-rounder in cultural activities.
Manvitha Kamath also spoke with her lecturers, recorded at Radio Sarang, did photo shoot at her favorite spot Katte (tree shade) and also at veranda of St Aloysius College and recalled her college days where she used to spend most of her times.
Manvitha Kamath said, “St Aloysius College is a very good institution and has created an atmosphere to enjoy the most. The then Principal, Fr Sweebert encouraged me to take up leadership and taught me to take risk and to face tough situations. Becoming an actress was a desire, which is fulfilled. Even my family did not have many expectations from me. I miss those days at St Aloysius College.”
Today Manvitha has become a leading actress of Sandalwood. Manvitha started her career as RJ in Radio Mirchi. She made her Kannada movie debut with ‘Kendasampige’, which received recognition for her prolific acting which gave her SIIMA award for best debutant actor (female).
Later on she acted in Kannada movie ‘Chowka and Kanaka’. Manvitha came back with a bang in Shivaraj Kumar starrer ‘Tagaru’, which bagged SIMMA and Filmfare award.
She was recently seen in Nagathihalli Chandrashekar’s directorial ‘India Vs England’ opposite Vasista Simha.
