'Mock Drill' on Security Alertness Continues Around Coastal Districts

Mangalore, Oct 23: Top police officials were seen busily involved with the ongoing mock drill in the coastal districts on Thursday too. Policemen continued to patrol the streets and check the vehicles at strategic points.
At most of the places in the twin-districts, a number of policemen were seen keeping a vigil at the seashore. In Gangolli in Kundapur taluk, the Coastal Security Force and Goast Guard, with the help of the local policemen, undertook extensive operations. Kundapur deputy superintendent of police Vishwanath Pandit, circle inspector Madan Gaonkar and sub-inspector Sathish Kumar supervised the operations at the sea shores of Kody, Kome in Tekkatte, Gangolli, Trasi etc.
A total of 46 check posts had been set up in Udupi district. Superintendent of police Pravin Madhukar Pawar, deputy superintendent of police Jayant Shetty, circle inspector Girish also were involved with the checking of the preparedness of the policemen in combating unexpected eventualities like the terror strike.
