Mangaluru: Annual day celebration of SAC Higher Primary School held

Mangaluru, Feb 10: The most anxiously awaited Annual Day celebration of St Aloysius College Higher Primary School was held on February 8 at the St Aloysius High School premises.

The theme for the annual day was 'Youth'.

Dr Nischith D'Souza, Consultant Urologist & Robotic Surgeon, Yenepoya Hospital, graced the occasion as the chief guest. Fr Dionysius Vaz SJ, the rector of St Aloysius Institutions presided over the function, correspondent Fr Gerald Furtado SJ, Philomena Lewis, headmistress, and PTA vice president Arvind K Rao were escorted by the school band to the dias along with the SPL Eshaan and ASPL Dalmia Denis.

The programme commenced with the prayer song and was followed by a heart warming welcome dance. Philomena Lewis introduced the chief guest to the audience.

Addressing the gathering the chief guest Dr Nischith praised the school for raising the educational standard in the city. He congratulated the management, staff and students for their meticulous work. He requested the parents and the teachers to see that the childhood joys of children are not taken away. He also said that we are living in the world of performances. Society has given guidelines to us. A child needs to present himself well in the society.

He stated that he felt highly honoured and elated to witness the Annual Day.

The chief guest Dr Nischith, in his message congratulated the Jesuit Institution for providing a large platform in Mangalore for the education, which they provide to all the students who join their institution over the past 140 years is highly appreciated all over Mangalore and the world. The all round development in spiritual, intellectual, social, emotional, in strengthening horizons to build a better character from a child to the adolescence is very helpful in building a better way in the lives of an individual . He congratulated the staff and the students for being present in a blessed institution where all kinds of provisions are provided where corrections re done by the staff in every stages in bridging and strengthening relationship, which further builds up a happy and a healthy atmosphere to the students.

He recalled his memories of childhood days for being a student of this institution and was happy to pass out from the same institution with flying colours. He also mentioned that there is no failure in life alternatively there is scope for many directions to improve in life , to build up healthy habits and positive attitude is an important step for the budding students. He suggested the parents to help the child in their failures , give enough time on their added responsibility such that they become constructive in their ideas, talk and motivate them in their failures . Responsibility plays a important role in the life of a child.

A memento was presented to Dr Nischith as a token of love and appreciation by rector Fr Dionysius Vas.

In his presidential address Fr Dionysius Vaz SJ, said that the primary school is a heaven on earth where the budding talents of children blossom. He congratulated the Primary staff teachers and the Management for being an example of providing a healthy environment to the budding students and for putting up an excellent programme.

He mentioned about the importance of discovery and invention which plays an essential role in the life of a student. He said that asking questions is forever learning. He cited an example of discovery and inventions.

The annual day prize distribution function was a moment of pride and honour for all winners and achievers of the school. The students who had brought laurels to school in various competitions as well as co-curricular areas were felicitated.

The Headmistress then presented the Annual report of the school through power point that had the achievements of the school in academics, sports and co-curricular activities. The students then presented mesmerizing cultural events such as dances, plays, songs etc. .

The two - hour long cultural programme held the audience in awe and left them enlightened as the show culminated. The budding music talents of the school the Orchestra played and rendered beautiful numbers throughout the programme.

Eshaan B B, the school pupil leader extended a warm welcome to all the dignitaries and the audience present, while Dalmia Denis, the ASPL rendered vote of thanks.

The entire programme was well organised and the students gave a stupendous performance. All the students had actively participated in the programme. They also ably anchored the evening’s programme which took off at 8.00 pm. with school anthem.
