Udupi, Feb 11: Young woman cinematographer Vaishali has handled camera for ‘Yenna’ Tulu film. She works in Daijiworld Udupi as a video editor.
A woman behind the camera, lighting and action is a rare feature in Coastalwood. For the first time, camera is being handled by a lady in Tulu films.
Glorious Angelore Productions’ next venture, Tulu film ‘Yenna’ is directed by Vishwanath Kodikal. It will hit screens on February 14.
“I started photography as a passion in 2007. My first camera was a Nikon D-70. In 2013, I started photography as a part time profession and then I became a full-fledged photographer. I also worked as an assistant videographer in 2016. I learnt graphic design and editing through YouTube,” she says to Daijiworld.com.
She has worked in ‘Shambhu Natanam’ (Telugu), ‘Deyi Baidithi’ (Tulu), Kannada, Tamil, Tulu, and Malayalam short movies.
She also handled cinematography in ‘Yashode' Kannada serial as an assistant cinematographer.
“Yes, I got good experience by working with Vishwanath Kodikal. I am getting offers now. Before that, I worked in Kathasangama team. I believe that talent will get recognition in Tulu industry.
“I had passion towards camera and photography since my high school. I used to go to cover events. Moreover, I am very much interested in coverage of wedding photography. I learnt editing through YouTube,” she says.
Renowned actor and VJ Vineeth and Shruthi Poojary will be seen in lead role, Bantwal Ramesh Rai Kukkuvalli, Sujatha Shetty, Kavitha Dinakar, Dheeraj Neermarga, Prashanth C K, Vinod Charmadi, Yathish Paladka and another 173 artistes are in the film. Sandalwood and Coastalwood actor Pruthvi Ambar will be seen in a guest appearance. The film has received a U/A certificate.
