Mangalore: Bookings Open for Haj Pilgrims Leaving on Oct 25

Mangalore, Oct 24: The booking for the first flight service to Haj from the airport here from Sunday October 25 has already begun on Friday October 23.
State Haj Committee director K M Hussein Sakhafi of Emmemadu rendered dua following which the booking operations began. Onion merchant Abdul Rasheed of Pandeshwar in the city registered as the first pilgrim along with State Haj Committee chairman S Mohammed Ghouse.
The preparations to aid Haj pilgrims are on in fill swing at Ansar English Medium School and Jumma Masjid Hall at Bajpe, here. The road in front of the masjid has seen concreting works. Arrangements have bee made for pilgrims to stay put at the school and hall.
The camp will be inaugurated by waqf minister Dr Mumtaz Ali Khan and State Haj Committtee chairman S Mohammed Ghouse will preside.
Former minister B A Moideen, Mangalore MLA U T Khader, Dakshina Kannada District Minorities Unit president Moideen Bava, Haj Organising Committee president Mohammed Kunhi, vice-president Abdul Azeez Baikampady, secretary S M Rasheed and Bajpe Jumma Masjid president V Mohammed were present.
Union Minister S M Krishna to Inaugurate First Haj Flight
A total of 102 pilgrims will take off from Mangalore on the first day and the first flight service will be inaugurated by union external affairs minister S M Krishna. The first flight service will leave the Bajpe airport on Sunday October 25 at 9.00 am.
