Moodbidri: Carmel School organizes farewell programme for outgoing students

Moodbidri, Feb 12: Carmel School, Moodbidri held a farewell programme for the students of Class 10 on February 12 at the school auditorium. The wonderful day began with a meaningful Eucharistic celebration celebrated by Fr Richard. He encouraged the students to imbibe good qualities and become light to others. The students of Class IX outdid themselves arranging a very meaningful programme. The theme for the farewell was ‘You are a beacon of light for others’. The outgoing students were welcomed uniquely into the auditorium with diyas in their palms. Livia of Class 9 warmly welcomed the chief guest Fr Praveen Aranha SVD Kinnigoly, the principal Sr Jyothi Saldanha, joint secretary Sr Niveditha, vice-principal Sr Premal Dias, the outgoing students and their parents. The lighting of the lamp was done a traditional manner, with the light being shared by the chief guest, joint secretary, the principal and the outgoing students as the shloka 'Asathoma Sadgamaya, Thamasoma Jyothirgamaya, Mrithyorma Amrithangamaya' was chanted.



After a cordial welcome, Rachael and Wayne of Class 9 shared their experiences about their seniors and wished them well. Student of Class 9 paid tribute to the outgoing students with a farewell song. Asma and Sujal, on behalf of class 10 shared some of their experiences and fond memories of Carmel School and expressed their gratitude to the school. A dance medley was performed which touched every heart. There was a touching movie presentation which featured most of the outgoing students from their earliest days at Carmel School. 

A short skit conveying the message of love, faith, hope, and peace was enacted. The outgoing students were blessed and prayer was recited by Sr Niveditha. They took the pledge led by the principal promising their loyalty and service to their alma mater. The chief guest in his speech asked the students to keep faith and trust in God, hold God in all challenging situations, have respect for elders, parents, teachers and shine wherever they go.

Momentos were distributed to the outgoing students. The vote of thanks was rendered by Vaishnavi of Class 10 thanking the management, staff and her juniors for the love showered on them through the touching farewell programme. The entire programme was a grand success. The students departed with sweet memories that they would cherish forever.
