Muscat, Oct 25: After the grand success of Ramadan Challengers Trophy, Gulf Sports Star (Muscatcricket.blogspot.com) is all set for its next fun-filled tournament, ‘Second Nawras Family Cricket Tournament’ to be held on November 13. The maximum number of teams allowed to enter the tournament is restricted to ten. This one-day tournament will focus only on the non-professional players . League players from A, B and C division cricket are not allowed to play in this tournament. The registration for the tournament will be open till November 7.
Announcing the event, the organizers said, “our first Nawras Family Cricket Tournament was a grand success, and this time, we do hope that the event will be even and better. We are sure that the event is going to be a big hit again, with the full support of all our sponsors. In order to have more fun, the number of teams allowed to contest has been restricted to 10.
”
They added that the response for this event has been excellent and that four teams have already registered themselves for the tournament even before the formal announcement. In addition to trophies, there will be lot of prizes viz., WESTAR , Alba watches, Sweets of Oman, gift hampers etc., for individuals as well as the top performers of the matches. There will be Maxima SSTEELE range of watches, McDonald free meal coupons and Nawras Gift Hampers for the Kids participating in this tournament, they explained.
To make this day more enjoyable for the families, the teams are allowed to register any of their family members. In addition, the organizers will also conduct a drawing and painting competition exclusively for the kids registered by the cricket players participating in this tournament. The youngest cricket player of the cricket tournament will get an exclusive prize. Famous DJ Warren will also play the latest music to entertain the crowd. In addition, the kids can also enjoy the bouncy castles installed at the stadium. For this tournament, online voting will also be conducted through Muscatcricket.blogspot.com and the team receiving the highest votes will get an exclusive prize, specially sponsored by Mustafa Sultan Exchange company. The voting will be conducted after the draws.

Rules for Cricket Matches:
The tournament will be played on a knock out basis. Every team must register the names of the 14 players before the match starts. ‘A’, ‘B’ and ‘C’ division league players are not allowed to play in this tournament. Once registered, the names of the players can not be changed. All Teams must be in proper Kit.
It be a tournament comprising of eight over per innings. Each bowler is allowed to bowl a maximum of two overs.
All ICC rules will have to be followed. The ball can be changed only on umpire’s decision.
Every team must stick to the decision of the umpire, which is final and binding. Every team must report to the ground half an hour before their scheduled time.
Rules- Drawing/Coloring competition:
The Drawing and coloring competition is exclusive for the families of cricket players. Participant child’s age must be between 8 and 10 years. Participants of drawing competition have to draw on the spot and have to color as well. Drawing sheets will be provided by the organizing committee and the participants have to bring their drawing board and the colors. Maximum time limit to draw and color is one hour and the competition will start at 3.00 pm on that day. There will be three grand prizes (one for the winner and two for the runners-up). In addition to the three top drawings, ten best paintings will get a Maxima SSTEELE range of watches. Each participant will also be entitled to a free prize sponsored by Sweets of Oman or McDonald. The top three winning drawings will be selected by the top NAWRAS officials and like in the last year, the prize-winning drawings will be displayed on www.omanicricket.com with the child’s name, the organizers have stated.
