Abu Dhabi, Feb 14: On Thursday first concrete pouring ceremony took place for BAPS Hindu Mandir at 6 pm at the temple site in Abu Dhabi. The unique thing of construction is that BAPS Hindu Mandir will be constructed without steel reinforcement.
During the ceremony there was Indian diaspora in the UAE members also senior Indian diplomats and temple priests. As per BAPS Mandir officials "This unique mix contains no steel reinforcement which follows the traditional ancient stone architecture used for religious stone buildings in India."
The construction started with a single pour of 3,000 cubic meters of the concrete mix, which is made up of 55 per cent fly ash. This makes Mandir construction green compared to most concrete mixtures used across the world.
