Bieber makes donation to Chinese charity amid coronavirus crisis


Los Angeles, Feb 14 (IANS): Pop singer Justin Bieber has made a large donation to a children's charity in Beijing, to show his support for China amid the deadly coronavirus outbreak in the country.

Bieber posted a video message on Instagram announcing the news, as China battles to contain the outbreak of the disease, which has so far infected 63,851 people and killed 1,380 in the Asian country alone, reports aceshowbiz.com

He picked the eve of St. Valentine's Day to send love to the country, writing: "Watching the news I couldn't imagine how scary it would be if a new disease was effecting my wife and my family and friends. China we stand with you as a collective humanity and have made a donation to support.

"Whether it be this or the fires of Australia we all need to be there for each other."

Bieber also shared a photograph of the receipt for his donation, and added in a clip: "I know it's a very scary time in your country right now, but my prayers and support go out to you guys. You guys are amazing."
