Mangalore: Dr N S Laxminarayana Bhatta to Inaugurate ‘Alva’s Nudisiri-2009’ on Nov 6

Mangalore, Oct 31: “‘Alva’s Nudisiri-2009’, the cultural and language conference of Kannada organized by Alva’s Education Trust in Moodbidri, will start on Friday November 6”, said Dr Mohan Alva, chairman of the Trust, on Friday October 30. 



Speaking at a press meet, Dr Alva said that the Nudisiri will be held under the presidentship of Dr Hampa Nagarajayya, senior researcher of language. Poet Dr N S Laxminarayana Bhatta will inaugurate the three-day programme.

The conference, with the theme of ‘Kannada Manassu-Samanvayadedege’ will held at the Rathanakaravarni Vedike, Gangubai Hangal Hall at Vidyagiri, Moodbidri.

Dr Sarojini Mahishi and Dr Sudha Murthy for their remarkable service to the Kannada language and region, theatre director Prasanna, scholor B A Sanadi, Dr C R Chandrashekar for his remarkable service in psychiatry literature, film actress Dr Jayamala, Yakshagana artist K Govinda Bhat, Prof M Ramachandra for his work to further Kannada literature through organization, Kannada software specialist  Prof K P Rao and folklore artist  Sukri Bommanagowda will be awarded with Alva's Nudisiri Award, said Dr Alva.

“Poets, scholars, and experts in Kannada language, will participate with the presentation of lectures. Cultural programmes have also been arranged on all three days”, said Dr Alva.
